Azimut Makes a Carbon Fiber Splash with new S7
Italian yacht builder Azimut is entering the world of carbon fiber construction with its new 21m Azimut S7. The S7 features a carbon fiber superstructure that allows for increased interior volume and optimized performance without increased weight. The new S7 is offered in both Coupe and Sportfly versions with triple Volvo IPS drives as propulsion to ensure enhanced performance, reduced fuel consumption and additional space below deck.
The sleek and sporty exterior lines were created by Stefano Righini and ensure a vast amount of natural light penetrates all areas of the yacht. Francesco Guida’s interior magic has created an owners suite 19 square meters in size that is partitioned into four separate areas. In addition to the vast owners suite there are three additional luxurious guest cabins. The interior design combines a masculine personality with understatement and elegance.
There are no shortage of entertainment and relaxing spaces on board the S7. Accommodations include two separate lounging areas, one of them complete with a 55″ TV and bar counter ensuring that all entertainment needs are met. Two versions of the interior have been created with different finishes: the first denotes a warmer personality while the second exudes a high-tech feel and emphasizes various shades of grey and materials such as glossy black flamed oak and tay wood.
The three Volvo IPS drives are each mated to an 800 horsepower engine and ensure a top speed of more than 35 knots. Azimut has implemented advanced ride control systems such as the ACS (Advanced Cruising Solutions) to ensure the yacht’s trim is automatically adjusted and kept at a constant and comfortable level for cruising at any speed. The S7 has also been built to the highest standards possible and has been issued Azimut’s HTS, or High Technical Standard declaration.
The S7 will make its world debut at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival.
