CNN/Ice Yachts Day’s: Redefining Explorer Vessels
Global interest in explorer style yachts is prompting some gorgeous new designs, including the CCN/Ice Yachts first project, Day’s. The 68-meter explorer vessel under construction at the AES Shipyard in Istanbul was presented at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, looking toward a deliver in the first half of 2018.
A product of exciting Italian design firm Hot Lab and Turkish naval architectural firm Endaze Marine Engineering, the yacht indulges owners with a forward, upper deck, apartment style cabin with two en suite baths, walk in wardrobe, gym, massage room, and direct, private access to a sky lounge business meeting room connected to tender delivery. There are three large VIP cabins, one cabin with singles, and an additional supernumerary cabin, all boasting en suite baths and walk in closets. Accommodations for 18 crew, with an additional captain’s cabin on the bridge deck, ensure guests will be attended.
Two tenders are stored in a lower deck garage. A helipad sits forward on the bridge deck. A beach club with shower and head is located on the lower deck. A large pool soothes the entrance on the main deck.
Client side project managers Jacques Potgeiter and Iain Flockhart were engaged six months ahead of the first steel work, ensuring safe, functional, cost effective operation and maintenance. Burgess is the appointed brokerage agency, already looking forward to the next build, currently in the planning stages. With a stylish, minimalistic design suggesting abundant space and warm, elegant environments washed in natural light, the future looks bright for Ice Yachts and Day’s delivery with this forward-looking adventure vessel.
