Picchiotti Charter Yacht Grace E: Space, Serenity, and Luxury
A collaboration among giants in the yachting industry, the creation of Motor Yacht Grace E unveiled an entirely new type of luxury craft, embracing wellness, style, and ecology. Delivering luxury without compromise, Philippe Briand’s third design in the series working with sailing icon Perini Navi, Picchiotti Motor Yachts, and acclaimed interior luxury yacht designer Rémi Tessier continues to draw admiration for every aspect of this spectacular build. Calling on his portfolio of more than 12,000 previous built yacht designs, Briand knows what works, what doesn’t, and when to try something new.
The undisputed winner in exterior, interior, and eco-technology categories at the 2015 World Superyacht Awards, Grace E proved worthy of them all. The slender lines of the BOS, Briand Optimized Stretch hull, propelled by an advanced diesel-electric Azipod system, confirm Grace E’s extraordinarily efficient hydrodynamics. Reduced resistance in the water results in a long range yacht that economizes fuel consumption with the benefit of lowering CO2 emissions. Boasting a cruising speed of 16.5 kts, she can roam the oceans for 7500 nm at 12 kts, and that is a nice, long ride.
At 73 m/240 ft, Grace E’s deck layout is clean and stylish with a nod to modern design accommodating 12 guests attended by 20 crew. The luxury of space is apparent in the owner’s full beam suite with two-meter ceilings and abundant open space. A central bath and tub, flanked by his and hers shower rooms employs cool design with warm, bleached sycamore wood walls and Hermes leather blinds. Two additional VIP cabins on the main deck, and two double cabins plus two twin cabins on the lower deck, all feature en suite baths outfitted in sumptuous linens and beautiful finishes.
An entire deck dedicated to wellness carries the clean, modern style of the salon through its massage room, beauty salon, and full gym. A treatment room with hydrotherapy bath, cold dip, and dry sauna welcomes weary guests with a meditation retreat, soothing with its 180° view. An aft sunbathing area is perfect for a yoga session with its spacious deck, inviting leisurely Jacuzzi and sunbathing sessions on the lounges and pads, or refreshment from the circular bar. Rotating lounge chairs with stylish internal biminis raise sunbathing to a fine art. A light filled stair wraps a glass lift accessing four of the five decks.
Formal dining for 12 seats guests adjacent to the salon, with several al fresco dining locations, offers options for entertaining. Amenities accessible from the beach club and garages include a 9.2 m Cockwells Twin jet tender with two 315 hp Yanmar motors, a 7.2 m Meyer single jet tender with a single 315 hp Yanmar, and a 5 m YachtWerft Mayer single jet tender. Additional toys make days on board Grace E busy and enjoyable, selecting from four SeaDoo waverunners, 2 SeaBobs, 2 JetSurfs, 2 SUPs, 6 kayaks, and an abundance of waterskis, wakeboards, snorkel gear and towables.
Indoor entertainment presents a Kaleidoscope movie library, Sky TV receivers, and an Oculus system with iPod docks through a state-of-the-art audio visual system. Additional electronics and communication on board embrace VSAT, Intellian, Fleet 500 and Iridium systems.
Perhaps one of Grace E’s most endearing features is something that remains absent. The Azipod propulsion system connects to a positioning system, acting as an electronic anchor. The system maintains the yacht’s position in current and wind without dropping 4000 kg./9000 lbs. of metal onto fragile ocean floors and reefs, also handily eliminating anchor noise. Additional insulating and noise dampening measures insure guests’ serenity on board.
A quiet, elegant, spacious yacht, intent on pampering guests with space, aesthetics, and amenities, Grace E is the perfect independent getaway. Contact Steve Johnson at The Best of Yachting for the information you seek, or to book your time on board.
