G.E.M. and Daniel Ricciardo Rock Formula One Fans in Singapore
To light the spark leading to Formula One racing events in Singapore, Chinese Christian super star G.E.M. and Formula One Driver Daniel Ricciardo took the stage Sept. 14, pumping up the audience with their presence. Performing a mini outdoor concert at Singapore’s trendy ION Orchard, the Tag Heuer Brand Ambassador music star and actress belted out an inspiring three-song set, charging up the crowd ahead of Formula One races this weekend.
G.E.M. was joined by Red Bull Racing Team Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, engaging in a fun scene that put them both in sync with the Urban Drum Crew for a little percussion experiment. Leading up to their appearances, Gareth Fernandez and Tay Kewei got the audience beat flowing, followed by the Urban Drum Crew and beatboxer Dhani, rocking and rolling through energetic rhythms to welcome the stars.
The black and white stage echoed the checkered race flag of Formula One events, with the prominent TAG Heuer hashtag #Don’tCrackUnderPressure underscoring the connection between TAG Heuer and Red Bull Racing. Launched in honor of the event, the Tag Heuer Formula One Red Bull Racing Team limited edition stainless steel watch also made an appearance. Engraved on the back with the Formula One checkered flag and the team racing logo, the watch features a seat belt style strap with red stitching.
At just 25 years old, G.E.M., born Gloria Tang Tsz-kei in Hong Kong, has been featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of musicians, the first Asian female singer to make the cut. Red Bull Racing claims four Double World Championship titles spanning 2010 through 2013, serving as the inspiration for the Swiss watchmaker’s partnership with the Red Bull Racing team.
The magic of the night, set against one of Singapore’s glitziest shopping venues, proved a spectacular success in anticipation of an exciting weekend of racing that includes the only night race in the Formula One circuit.
