MY Carpe Diem: Seizing Luxury and Leisure
Few yachts boast the sophistication and sumptuous detail of Trinity Yachts’ Carpe Diem. Launched in 2011, she is the smoothest, most dramatic 58 meters/191 feet of chic on the water for a multitude of reasons.
With just an 8 foot draft, she is deft and able, yet perfectly stabilized when moored at zero speed. With a semi-displacement aluminum hull, she cuts a beautiful figure at a cruising speed of 17 kts, revving up to 21 when so instructed.
Three large decks, with ample accommodation for seating a crowd, give her profile an enviable plus. Whether on the aft deck of the main, the alfresco dining on the sky lounge with aft deck full stern settee, or the inviting beach club at water level, MY Carpe Diem embraces alfresco dining and outdoor bliss on every level.
A main deck, full beam king master suite features bed athwart on port, matched with two armchairs and sofa starboard, all served by a pop up flat screen emerging from the foot of the bed, equipped with 360-degree swivel. Twin his and hers baths, each with Jacuzzi tubs, are enhanced by walk in closet, vanity, and study. Upholstered walls of quilted white sateen are crisp yet cozy against the black lacquered furniture. Fabulous interiors by Carol Williamson + Associates, in the master and throughout the yacht, are lush and livable, with a pleasantly clean, sophisticated focus.
Below amidships, three lavish king VIP suites surprise with individuality in each, maintaining the elegant design theme of black and white. The suite forward of the staircase features an adjacent twin with Pullman and retractable wall for configuring the mix to fit the guest list. Closed, it nestles travelers with smaller needs. Opened, it adds a sitting area to the VIP king to emphasize leisure within the quarters.
The contrast of the white furniture and carpet against black lacquer walls in the main saloon presents a stunning introduction to the yacht. Gorgeous Marilyn Monroe images in pastel colors accent the full beam foyer, hinting at lavender, orchid, and purple accents added in reserved measure.
A colorful bridge deck features a white onyx bar top and custom outdoor furniture, looking for all practical purposes as if it were beautifully designed indoor décor. Bright fabrics echo the subdued lavender theme.
Outfitted with three custom tenders, the 22- foot Nautica and 23-foot Novurania ensure speedy transport, launched from davits on the sundeck, along with four wave runners. The beach club harbors all of the necessary beach and water toys, including scuba equipment and compressor, with playful, supremely comfortable and cushy, inflatable patio furniture for the expansive transom.
Carpe Diem graciously accommodates a dozen guests in six staterooms, as well as formally seating all in the dining room, serviced by a galley with walk in Sub-Zero, large pantry, and dumbwaiter. Her contemporary features ensure flawless service while aboard or underway. Her features continue to please and surprise as the days slip by in simple bliss while enjoying a yachting experience in the gorgeous blue waters of Florida, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean.
