Serene: A Supersize Helping of the Yachting Lifestyle
One of the top 20 largest yachts in the world, Serene is a fine example of an enormous presence that doesn’t lose sophistication. It falls solidly in the category of a superyacht, but it can be described as more a floating mansion cross amusement park. Guests can explore the staggering seven decks stacked with handsome staterooms, snow rooms, swimming pools, helipads, and even an underwater viewing room.
This magnificent superyacht was a collaboration back in 2011 between Fincantieri shipyard , Espen Oeino, exterior design, and the lavish interior was designed by Raymond Langton. Serene is constantly hailed as one of the biggest and the brightest yachts as she boasts 133 meters of space. 24 guests can spread out luxuriously across the 12 generous cabins. With room for 52 crew members, your onboard entourage can meet every whim and desire, with no-one lacking for attention no matter how big your onboard champagne and canape parties are.
Serene seems to understand the art of living the yachting lifestyle well, the yacht is perfectly poised for entertainment. Children onboard will adore state of the art features like an indoor climbing wall, cinema room, powder snow room, and underwater viewing space with space for a submarine. In the gigantic garage of superyacht Serene you will find an exhaustive collection of tenders and toys, including a 10m fishing tender Pascoe and an Ocean Marine custom limousine tender.
Adults can touch down in style at one of the two helipads available onboard. Unwind after a day of toys and tenders in the full-service spa, hot and cold Jacuzzis and sauna. Cool down in one of the three swimming pools – one boasting an impressive 15m of lap space, and kick back with a fine scotch beside the domed fireplace of the lavish library.
For nights when the stars are out and you want to celebrate, Serene doesn’t fall short. With a dancefloor and bandstand, guests can party well into the dawn. The woodfire pizza oven, teppanyaki grill, grand dining rooms, and beautifully thought out al fresco spaces add to an ambience that makes you want to dine and drink well into the small hours.
The interior design of Serene seems to capture the timeless elegance of some of the world’s finest hotels or lavish cruise ships from the roaring 1920’s. There is almost something theatrical about her elegance, yet the scene remains subtle, coy, and calls on art deco seasoning meets contemporary shapes. Think grandiose spiral staircases that rise to starboard, large skylights that flood the stairways with natural light, and elegant wrought foyers that make you feel like you are in The Ritz.
Elsewhere, you will find a cocktail lounge of pure white where a polished onyx grand piano sits center stage flanked by two sweeping staircases leading down to the beautiful grand dining room Throughout you will find motifs like splashes of rich ruby red against shades of polished ebony and ivory.
The owner’s suite surpasses any imaginable expectations with its private hot tub on the terrace, full walk in dressing room, sleek ensuite bathroom, and personal elevator to the sea deck. Behind the owner’s deck one can find the library cum cigar room where the roaring log fire and refined touches are reminiscent of a Dutch gentleman’s club. Comfortable cabins are on offer on decks 3 and 4, all with private bathrooms and many with impeccable views from their sweet sink down tubs.
Every space in Serene, of which there are many, has been designed to blend both beauty and perfect functionality. There is complete coherence in every thought and idea behind the glorious superyacht and everything is connected making for a space of unrivaled pleasure and ease. Even the galley flows neatly into a guest galley, encouraging guests to mingle with the chef, making the epic space of Serene seem warm and intimate. Giant windows, balconies, and panoramic views make the most of the surrounding ocean, and comfortable lounging spaces and daybeds ever beckon you out to enjoy the sun.
Despite her epic ocean size, Serene still packs a punch thanks to her 8 MTU 4000 series engines and her top-notch speed of 20 knots. It’s no surprise that Serene is considered one of the best spaces afloat to deliver the yacht life, and with her stately style it’s no wonder that ex-presidents, Saudi royalty and Russian vodka tycoons adore her.
