Sycara IV: A Romantic Definition of Grand

Reinstating the glamour of 1920’s era yachts favored by financial barons, Sycara IV is the tenon into the mortise of elegant yachting experiences. The Burger Boat Company, creator of Sycara IV, is widely known for custom built yachts that truly forge bonds between the old and the new. Burger’s award-winning work, exquisite in both form and function, has consistently been dropping jaws upon the reveal since 1863.

Sycara IV’s stunning profile echoes the dramatic fantail schooners of the early 20th century, while embracing state-of-the-art Alustar aluminum hull and carbon fiber mast and bowsprit with period detail. Her 46m/151 ft displacement hull motors gracefully between 12 and 15 kts, majestically cruising the waters of the USA, the Bahamas, and select Caribbean destinations.

At first glance one is charmed by the abundance of luxurious woods and furnishings, crafted of Madrone burl, Macassar ebony, teak, and sycamore, polished with glossy white details and authentic carved wool carpets exuding an air of art-deco opulence. The jewelry quality door hardware and polished stainless steel details, set in a color palette of deep blue and a range of creamy hues, speak understated power and luxury.

Sycara IV inspires a most gracious yachting experience for eight guests in each of her four en suite staterooms, all equipped with shower, desk, double opening portholes, TV/DVD, and bath with double sink. Settling into these quarters prepares all on board for a holiday like no other.

The main deck finds a casual dining table for eight aft. The intimate main salon encourages conversation on two facing sofas and two armchairs, enhanced by a wet bar with seating and a 54″ TV. The top deck also presents an optional dining opportunity for eight, a raised Jacuzzi, bench seating with table forward of the mast, as well as tables and seating on both port and starboard decks. A generous sun pad graces the foredeck.

With a pièce de résistance in every detail, Sycara IV surprises and delights all with the period perfect Nouvrania Chase 7m/23ft tender ‘Miss Sydney’. The handsome profile is stowed above the aft deck, gathering admiring glances both in service and at rest.

Paying homage to the golden era of yachting might lead to assumptions regarding technology, but make no mistake. Sycara IV is abundantly gifted, with wifi, Internet, fax, cell phone, satellite TV, iPod dock, DVD player and library, and a generous selection of modern water toys.
